Article Reading Tip
By Rosemary Bell
It's amazing how many writers on the Internet still don't know how to format their articles properly. Better formatting such as paragraphs and blank lines between paragraphs would make it so much easier for the reader. My solution to this is to simply increase the font size on the page I'm viewing. You can do this through menu view and zoom in but what I find much easier is to just hit the CTRL and + keys until it is easier to read. Once I'm done reading, I just hit CTRL and 0 (zero) to return the page back to normal. Works great for this site. Just my tip for today!

Thank you for this great tip, Rosemary. Being a senior with trifocals, this is wonderful. I immediately showed it to my wife, and she extends her thanks. Best to you. Frederick

Glad it helped. I'm just getting tired of long intel being posted with no line spacing. I'm hoping it will get some people to review their intel before posting.
Thanks for the zoom tip, Rosemary. Maybe now I can get rid of my brow furrows from squinting.

I use the zoom all the time, there are so many sites with such a small font size that they are difficult to read and I don't need glasses for reading. Forgot to mention the other half of this shortcut, that CTRL and the '-' minus key makes it smaller. But then that doesn't make it easier to read, unless you got carried away with the zoom.
I just tried it, and it works! I've been using a computer for years now and never knew this. Such a valuable tip, in particular for my hubby who has a problem reading small print on the screen. Thank you for the tip, keep 'em coming!

Thanks Barb. I like helping people learn more about their computers. I also realize there are a lot more seniors getting online who do wear glasses and could use simple tips like this. Two keys, how much easier can you get!
Excellent contribution. Short cuts do simplify life don't they?

Very much. I don't know what I would do without them. I use them all the time and especially now. Although I have a laptop, I also have an external mouse attached (easier than the touch pad for me) and it sometimes stops working on me.
Hi classyRose, I have a Seniors blog and also am in a group called Savvy Seniors at 12second commute, and I noticed you have full copyright on this tip, meaning we can't pass it on or write it anywhere else without your permission. So I am asking, please may I have poermission to add it to my seniors blog and also to let our Savvy Seniors group know too? Thank you so very much. It's a super tip. bless you m uchly, Danella

Danella, thanks and of course you can. I'll send you a note. Don't forget about the other shortcut I mentioned above in my replies, and intentionally left out of the article. This zoom shortcut is better than the zoom feature available on some computers today. The one on mine produces a fuzzy image.
